What is temporary email?
Temporary email is a disposable inbox for low-risk sign-ups, trials, and newsletters when you do not want to share your permanent address. Privily gives you a private alias you can retire when it is no longer useful.
Is the temporary email service free?
Yes. We believe basic privacy is a right and support the platform through premium phone number subscriptions. We do not sell your data, ever.
Can I reply to emails sent to my alias?
Absolutely. When you reply from your dashboard, the recipient sees your alias address, never your real identity.
What happens if I delete an identity?
It's removed immediately and permanently. Anything sent to that address afterwards will bounce, so you can burn an alias the moment it's compromised.
Why do phone numbers cost money?
Unlike email, renting real phone numbers from telecom carriers carries a monthly cost. We pass that on with a minimal markup to keep the servers running.
Can I receive SMS verification codes privately?
Yes. A phone identity can receive SMS verification codes without exposing your personal number. Use it for services where a real number is appropriate, and follow each service's rules.
Do you read my emails?
No. Messages are shown to you when you open an identity. We don't sell, mine, or share their contents.
